Hello to all my Lipsie Lake neighbors, Labor Day is behind us and the end of 2020 lake season is coming to a close. We still have one piece of 2020 business and that is dock out fundraiser. Aaron Temple is looking for volunteers to help in October. Speaking of Aaron, we had no objections to making fund raising chair a voting member so we will amend our bylaws to reflect this change 1/1/2021.
Bob Baker asked the board to agree to offer Kathy(our lake landing monitor ) a raise for agreeing to return next year. The cost to the association was less then $500 for the season and the board unanimously agreed. Its proving to be a challenge to find high quality candidates to fill these positions and I am happy that Kathy accepted Bob's offer. Kathy primary responsibility is to make sure boats coming in or leaving our lake clear weeds and debris and decontaminate. During the season she reported several violators to the sheriffs department. First time offenders receive a warning but repeat offenders receive fines. She also said a small number of lake association members said because this boat or trailer is only for this lake that they did not have to follow the rules. The board discussed this and we felt strongly that because this is our lake we should set a better example to everyone using the landing as we follow the rules and so should everyone using the landing. We have instructed Kathy to report all violators next year, no exceptions.
The one area that received the most discussion was how to improve the fishing on the lake. From fish sticks to restocking. Hopefully we will actually have an in person meeting on Memorial weekend 2021 and I'll look into the cost of stocking Walleye in the lake.
Thanks
Mark hansen
