Hello to all our Lipsett Lake neighbors!
Lake season is here, but not like the seasons that have come before. News is filled with terms like social distancing, essential services, quarantine, and pandemic. The coronavirus has effected all aspects of life, including a trip to the lake. We need to be respectful of each others personal space. With these thoughts in mind, the way we have conducted our lake association meetings in the past are not practical. To review the annual financial report and make a motion to ratify, and to vote yes or no, is not safe, yet we all are entitled to receive this report as well as the and updates from all our committee chairs.
With these concerns, the board of directors have decided the safest method to share the information is through the blog. Each committee chair will be submitting their reports to Chris Snyder and they will be published by the end of Sunday, May 17, 2020.
Please review the reports and if you have concerns, please do not hesitate to share your concern with the board.
There has been a motion to amend the By-Laws to have the fund raising chair made a voting member of the board of directors. A couple of years ago, we amended our By-Laws to make the Lake Management Chair a voting member. We did this because of the liability exposure dealing with the hiring and managing our boat landing monitor. When I look at the duties of our fund raising chair, with managing dock in and dock out, along with our other fund raising duties, I saw a potential liability risk there as well. By amending our By-Laws, we would extend the same protection the other voting members of the board receive.
Hopefully by the fall meeting we will all be able to get together and put this motion to a full vote!
Finally if you have any concerns, please feel free to reach out to the board members, we will respond.
Stay safe and in good health and maybe we will see each other on the lake!
Respectfully,
Mark Hansen
