We’ve had several
inquiries about where snowmobiles can exit the lake on the north end of Lipsett
Lake. Right now there is no legal snowmobile access to Lipsett
Lake on the north end. All the property is privately owned and to
cross it without permission is
Trespassing. Mark
Spease and the snowmobile club
are talking to some people in hopes of working this out however it
doesn’t look like this problem will be solved before spring.”
We’ll let you know if and when we have more information on
this.
Has there been a sign posted on the trail to let snowmobilers know that the trail through Lipsie has "been closed" & maybe a note regarding tresspassing? This would probably eliminate most of the issues with riders trying to find a way off lake. Unfortunately I have also had people driving through my lot(tresspassing) and have had to stop some folks and let them know there is no way off lake. The people I talked to seemed to understand, but just had no idea access to trail has been closed. I think a sign would help.

I did send this note to everyone on Lipsett Lake whose email address I have. Mark Spease is the person to speak with for any more action.
DeleteWe have actually had people tearing down yellow tape that has been put across places where snowmobilers are crossing illegally. Lawn Chairs, logs and other furniture has been put up to block the way, but has been moved out of the way by snowmobilers. I don't believe these snowmobilers are from Lipsett Lake - I think they are just snowmobilers looking for a way to get to the bars or to snowmobile trails on the north side of the lake. Looks like spring is just around the corner (hopefully) and we'll have the whole summer to figure out how to solve this problem.
