Lake Management Committee Report by Bob Baker:
We had workers at the boat landing every weekend since Fishing Opener checking boats for invasive species.
2014 Curlyleaf Pondweed Survey Results:
On June 22 Brad Morris’ team from the Burnett County Land and Water Conversation Department conducted a survey of the Curlyleaf Pondweed on Lipsett Lake. This is a brief summary of their results that is very encouraging.
This year Curly leaf (CLP) was found at only 28 of the 440 predetermined grid points in our lake. This could easily change in future years if plant-growth conditions become more favorable, but for now the CLP is much less extensive.
Election of Officers:
Greg Heber accepted nomination for President of the Lake Association for next year and was unanimously elected.
Tom Boehne accepted nomination for Treasurer and was unanimously elected.
Carolyn Schlitter accepted nomination for Director and was unanimously elected.
Donna Twining reported seeing a lot of people with kids playing on the front of pontoon boats (outside the front gate on the boat) and asked that, if you see this happening you let them know it is dangerous AND illegal.
Greg Heber reported teenagers chasing birds on the lake with jet skis. He would like everyone to know that Lipsett Lake wild life is “off limits”.
