Minutes of the meeting will be posted soon - but here are a few things you need to know before then.
The Children's Fishing Contest began Memorial Day Weekend on Friday and will continue through Labor Day. Contest Forms will be posted on the blog and can be cut and pasted into your word processing program and printed on your printer. But your kids can start fishing anytime and measuring your fish (tip to tip) and writing down what kind of fish it was so you can fill in the forms when they are available. And don't forget - we love to get pictures of kids fishing or pictures of kids with their fish or kids' fishing stories - so send in as many as you like and we will post them on the blog.
The July 4 Boat Parade will be Saturday, July 7, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the outlet and will travel clockwise this year . First, Second and Third prizes will be given for the most original and the most Patriotic boats. To
help the judges identify your boat, please display your boat number prominently
on the left hand side of your boat, big enough for judges to see. Boat numbers
are listed below. Numbers must be displayed to win and boats must complete the whole parade in order to receive prizes. You do not have to decorate your boat to join the parade!! -- the more boats we have in the parade, the more fun it is for everyone!! Bring a dish to pass (finger foods are easiest) and bring your own beverages and meet for a tie-up after the parade. (you do not have to be in the parade to join the tie-up party) The exact place the tie-up will be depends on the wind so watch for a island of boat and just come out and join the party!!
Your boat number preceeds your name:

Just one more thing -- but it's very important
With all the rain we have had, the burning ban has been lifted (however you still need a permit to burn). But the speaker at the Spring Meeting, Dave Okenek, a member of the Scott Township Fire Department, cautioned that a couple dry and windy weeks could put us back in the danger area for forrest fires. He also said that we will be dealing with the results of the "blow down" for another twenty years.
