Greg Heber for president (2 yrs)
Tim Bearden , for secretary to fill an unexpired term for 1 year
Doris Perry, for treasurer for 2 year term
Doug Mulville, for director 3 years.
Nominations will also be taken from the floor if anyone chooses to do so. If not the slate presented will be elected by acclamation.
Officers who continue are:
Charlie Edwards, VP
Bob Baker director until 2011
Sally Nelsen director until 2012.
Thanks to Tim for his service the last 3 years as a director and for everyone’s willingness to contribute to the continued success of the LLA.
Looking ahead and knowing it will be all to soon before the next election, keep in mind 2011 when Vice President, Secretary and 1 director will be elected. Consider serving at some time.
We also need a volunteer help with the newsletter. Actually, the newsletter will be on the Blog so the only thing this person will have to do is copy, paste and print the newsletter and mail it to those people who do not have email.
FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE:
Calendar Photo Contest
We have received a number of wonderful pictures for our Lipsett Lake Calendar Photo Contest -- however, a lot of the pictures have been taken by the same photographers. We need more pictures and more photographers. Please send any pictures you’ve taken, or will take, to me at pkloftus@centurytel.net no later than October 4. (However, you can still send pictures taken after that for next year’s calendar.) Remember, pictures in Landscape format work better than pictures taken in Portrait format for this purpose. All of the pictures will be posted on the blog (www.lipsettlakeassociation.blogspot.com) and can be found on the right side of the main page -- just click on the Calendar Photo Contest page. The fund Raising Committee will judge the photos. The calendars will be available for purchase two ways:
1. At the Holiday Party on December 4.
2. By contacting Tanya via e-mail at tanya.ives@philips.com or by cell phone at 612-554-0570.
The cost of the calendars will be $20 each, plus the cost for postage and envelopes if they have to be mailed.
Dock-In Fundraiser:
You can get your name on the Dock-Out list either by contacting Tanya via email at tanya.ives@philips.com or calling her on her cell pone at 612-554-0570. She will also have a sign-up sheet at the annual meeting. The Dock Out Dates (based on the feedback I received) will be September 25 and October 16. You will need to be signed up by September 18 and be present while we take out your dock. The charge will be $2 a foot for docks and $50 for boat lifts.
CHILDREN'S FISHING CONTEST:
Don’t forget to take your kids and grandkids fishing -- and pick up a contest form from the C&R Store to enter the fishing contest. We would also love to have pictures of the children fishing -- even if they don’t join the contest. And we just love fishing stories for our little anglers. The contest runs through Labor Day -- so get out there enjoy a special time with the kids. Don't have time to pick up a form? You can go to the Children's Fishing Contest Form on the right of this page to find a form on line.
NEWSLETTERS:
Please send us your email address! If you kow your neighbor's email address and know they are still receiving their newsletter by mail, ask if you can send us their email address. (send it to me at pkloftus@centurytel.net) We are trying to send out ALL newsletters in the new Lipsett Lake Association Blog at www.lipsettlakeassociation.blogspot.com . This will save us a considerable amount of money each year in printing, purchasing paper, envelopes, and postage -- as well as a lot of volunteer time spent taking the newsletter to the printers, folding and stuffing, preparing labels and applying them, adding stamps, and taking them to the post office. If you are reading this newsletter on line but we don’t have your email address, please send it to me at pkloftus@centurytel.net so that I can add you to my email address list and take you off the mailing list. I will send you a note every time there is an important change on the blog. Having a list of people who are receiving this by email will also help us eliminate those names from our mailing list. If you do not have an email address, a newsletter will still be mailed to your home. If you do not want to receive a newsletter, please let me know and I will remove your name from all address lists. You can email me at pkloftus@centurytel.net or phone me at 715-635-3594.
